When do we do what?
Many NEST activities happen behind the scenes: coaching sessions with musicians, funding applications, residency programmes, strategic planning and artistic development trajectories.
But some of our activities are open to the public. That's where you'll find our Hatched! evenings and Flock Sessions.
Hatched! evenings are true hidden gems, if we may say so ourselves. Until recently, these experimental concerts took place at Vol Pension, a cosy music café in the heart of Ghent, and at our favourite creative workspace de Koer .
Although our wonderful collaboration with Vol Pension has come to an end following the transfer of the café, de Koer remains part of the story. From autumn 2026 onwards, Hatched! will also find new homes at the charming Café De Loge and Café Trefpunt.
Hatched! takes place every second Wednesday of the month, starting at 8:30 pm.

PROGRAMME HATCHED! evenings (new series in preparation)
Following three successful concert series in 2025 and 2026, NEST is currently preparing a new season of Hatched! for 2026–2027.
More information will follow soon, but the plan is to relaunch the series in October 2026.

Since February 2026, NEST has also been organising Flock Sessions.
These open and free workshops and networking moments for professional and semi-professional musicians are organised in collaboration with Mosca Blanca and Trefpunt. Approximately every two months, we gather around a specific topic or a need emerging from the community itself.
Together, we create a space for learning, exchange, questions and community building.
FLOCK SESSIONS PROGRAMME
The topics of the sessions are shaped by the needs and questions that emerge from the community.
The next Flock Session will focus on sharing best practices and giving each other constructive feedback. Bring along that email you're about to send to a programmer, that newsletter you're struggling with, or those social media posts you've been doubting about. Together, we'll look at storytelling, communication and practical strategies that actually work.
We're aiming for late September or early October, but we're currently reconsidering the timing. Until now we've always met on Tuesdays, but many musicians told us that this isn't ideal.
